Make a Flower Headpiece
Lizzie McQuade hosts a workshop exploring the technique of flower making using unexpected fabrics such as faux leather, vinyl and acetate, silks, crystals and beading. Guests will choose their own combination of fabrics, cut and sew the flowers and then attach them to their choice of base to create a unique headpiece perfect for parties and occasions in any season.
Lizzie McQuade is a London-based, Scottish milliner who creates hats and headpieces utilising her skills in traditional millinery, embroidery, leather-work, beading and hand-dying techniques, creating modern pieces that are always made by hand. After working in the fashion industry, Lizzie found her passion for millinery and trained with some of London’s best milliners – Piers Atkinson and Noel Stewart – before being selected by Stephen Jones and the British Fashion Council to present her collections as part of the ‘Headonism’ initiative. This platform saw her brand garner international attention. In addition to creating bespoke hats, Lizzie frequently works on commissioned pieces for catwalk shows and fashion magazines including Felder Felder, Vogue and AnOther Magazine.
